New ad campaign to focus on asking for the card
Gas safe Register will be launching a campaign later in the year to encourage people to ask for the Gas Safe registered card.
The campaign will focus around the real-life experience of someone who has suffered because they employed a gas fitter who was unqualified for the work they undertook.
It will help explain to the public the reason for the Register and encourage them to check the identity and qualifications of their gas engineer.
Gas Safe Register will be approaching industry and other stakeholders to back the campaign before a national advertising push in heating season.
Some customers may, at first, feel a bit uncomfortable asking to see an engineers ID car- so as part of the campaign, engineers will be asked automatically show it and not wait to be asked.
